Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969)

O- Sensei. Morihei Ueshiba. Founder of Aikido. 1883-1969

Aikido as the official designation is in force since February 1942. Prior to that this martial art known under several names, but the essence was always the same. The Founder Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969), was O-S ensei.

Morihei Ueshiba was one of the largest martial arts. His talent lay in that effective martial arts techniques combined with deep spirituality.  He involved the deep philosophical parts of the budo. He has a great influence on the philosophical thinkers, and also martial artists.

O-Sensei travelled widely in Japan, and while the art of conversation and other visionary with physical challenges in the successful defeat of perfection. The budo exercising reputation his grew. Disciples flocked to him. Many of them have an uchideshi.  Uchideshi system in Japan in the usual way of learning was similar- although not entirely the same as in the west of the master artisan apprentices. The students took part in the everyday life of a teacher living room with his.

Aikido is the art of the transfer of spirituality. Although O-Sensei was religious man, I can’t say that religion O-Sensei had conveyed to his students.  Instead of trying to help people be taxed deep reverence for life and for all creatures develop a sense of loving care.
